Day 22 – Your Academics
30 Day Writing Challenge
To start my 30 Day Writing Challenge from the beginning, start here.
It’s that time of year when high school graduates are getting ready to brave the real world and start college. They’ve got their new computers, all their clothes packed, and a list of things they never knew they needed for this new chapter in their lives. Even though nearly 70 percent of Americans have an undergraduate degree, less than two-thirds of those students end up with a degree. Unfortunately, some students cannot afford the rising costs of higher education, or they feel that sitting in school for another four years by choice is, “not for them”. This is unfortunate because the economic climate is changing, and companies are looking for more.
College graduates make on average, 84% more than those who do not hold a degree, making a degree one of the best investments people can make in their futures. I can honestly say that I have invested a lot in my future, and I hold three higher education degrees. I have a Bachelors in Forensic Science, a Masters of Business Administration in Healthcare and a Maters in Computer Science. I’m quite the nerd, and proud of it. I think it’s obvious to say that I love to learn.
I think I am done with schooling, but who knows? I’m sure that given the chance to learn something else, I would jump for joy.
